Richland One to Host Informational Meeting about Grants for After-School Programs
Churches, day care providers, nonprofit groups, colleges and other organizations interested in hosting after-school programs for Richland One students are invited to an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 22 at 4 p.m. in room 102 of the Stevenson Administration Building, 1616 Richland Street.

Club EdVenture, Richland One’s after-school program operated by EdVenture Children’s Museum, recently received double honors including a sizeable monetary donation and an international award.

Richland One Administrator Named National Afterschool Ambassador
Dr. Traci Young Cooper, director of Richland One’s Office of Extended-Day Programs, has been named a 2007-2008 Afterschool Ambassador by the Afterschool Alliance, a national nonprofit public awareness and advocacy organization.

Richland One, City of Columbia to Host Stakeholders Breakfast Celebrating After-school Programs
Every week Richland One’s after-school programs provide a safe haven, fun projects and educational activities for thousands of students, but many children in this country are not so fortunate. On Thursday, October 18, Richland One and the City of Columbia will join thousands of communities across the nation, as they celebrate Lights On After School, a nationwide movement working to ensure that all children and youth have access to quality after-school programs. more info |
